General knowledge of Deep Space

Deep Space is the "Wild Frontier" of humankind. Here the pioneer spirit still rule and justice is often quick and swift, accidents are so easily arranged in the darkness of space.. The most important group there is without doubt Space Front Ltd. Their astroid transporting industry has developed a practically independent state in the Main Belt. Their homeastroid The Far End Hut is considered as the power center of deep space. And they have a total of three huge spacecitys called Mammoths, travelling the Main Belt. Mammoths have actually evolved around the big habitation ships that workers use as their sleeping quarters while working in the astroid fields. During the months in space, some workers started to wish for some privacy, so one day a group of them attatched an empty cargo-module to the side of the ship and made it their appartment. It didn't take long for the others to follow and soon the engines where about the only part visible of the original ship and the first Mammoth was born. They have then grown steadily and are now the size of city's, with restaurants, bar's, shops and even brothels. The three Mammoths are called Hombretown, Claimstation and Plaguebase (got it's name after a very nasty flu-strain started there)

One of the major nightmares that both the Moons and Earths goverments have, is a scenario of a conflict with Space Front Ltd. Just the idea of astroid sized objects hitting populated planets isn't a nice picture. That's why both Earth and the Moon are trying to keep a strong military presence in the area. The battleship Vulcan is permanently stationed in the area as well as several cruisers from both ZPG and Federal Spacecrafts. Space Front Ltd is not known to have any military spacecrafts, but few want's to fight with them as they are the only fuel and food provider in the Main belt. The only other fuel providers are found at the Earth, the Moon and at Jupiters moon Europa.
